The Zane Trace FFA Ag Issues CDE team placed 3rd in the State contest, which was held on Saturday, April 29th at the Ohio State University. The team consisted of seniors Cassidy Corcoran and Ann Shelby along with junior Brittany Lott. The team qualified for the contest by researching the benefits and drawbacks of having a year round farmer’s market in Ross County. They then gave a presentation about these facts in a public forum format to five civic groups which included the Chillicothe Morning Rotary, Ross County Farm Bureau, Chillicothe Kiwanis, Zane Trace School Board and Ross County Commissioners. After these five presentations, the group was selected to give their presentation to a panel of judges made up of Agriculture professionals and Ohio State University Faculty. The members would like to thank all of the individuals and groups who helped them prepare for the state contest. They also would like to thank Pickaway-Ross CTC staff for allowing them to participate in the contest as a satellite program.
